    MAOT Conference Committee is accepting papers for Presentations and Posters to its annual Fall Conference scheduled for October 28, 2012 at the Four Point Sheraton Norwood and for its Annual Spring Conference to be scheduled in March/April 2013 at a location in Central Mass.

OTR Program Specialist – Waltham / Brookline

Position Summary:

The OTR Program Specialist is a new full time position that will be shared between our growing Parkinson's Family Support Program and our Visiting Nurse Association (VNA). This position works to provide innovative community based programming for people with Parkinson's disease and their family/caregivers as well as providing VNA visits to seniors with varying diagnoses as part of our community rehabilitation team. The OTR Program Specialist works collaboratively with the Parkinson's Family Support Team and VNA staff providing clinical, administrative, programmatic and therapeutic services and has the opportunity to contribute to the development of new programs, trainings and workshops.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement programming for families affected by Parkinson's disease in Waltham and in the greater Boston community
  • Maintain a half time caseload of VNA clients and comply with all documentation requirements
  • Foster collaborative relationships both internally and externally with a range of professionals and organizations
  • Facilitate Parkinson's Family Support Program activities
  • Organize and facilitate groups for individuals with PD and their families
  • Travel to meeting and community based programming sites
  • Provide home health aide training on assistance with ADLs
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • MS in OT.
  • Massachusetts state OT licensure
  • Experience working with older adults with disabilities and their families in a community setting. Knowledge of neurological diseases and/or chronic disease processes required. Arts-related experience preferred. Group facilitation skills required.
  • Must have driver's license & vehicle.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to document in the VNA electronic record using a point of care device.

Occupational Therapist

Requisition #4495 Occupational Therapist (Early Intervention, Dorchester) Schedule: Monday through Friday 9a-5p Salary: $44,000


Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy to children 0 to 3 years of age in their own homes (or day care).
  • Participate in multidisciplinary assessmments and service planning for children and their families.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree and MA license in Occupational Therapy.
  • Pediatric experience a plus.
  • Driving License Required? Yes
