Supporting in practice the concept of Volume to Value in Post-Acute Care (Part II)

Overview:

    On February 12th, Elaine Craddy Adams, OT, OTR, MPPA, FAOTA and Laurie Cecchi, OT, OTR, CAPS, Geriatric Clinical Specialist, will present Part II PDPM and PDGM (a continuation of our November meeting).

  • Brief review of Volume to Value in Post-Acute Care
  •  Selection of medical ICD 10 codes, including relevant comorbidities
  • Facilitating discussion with IDT team and physician to advocate for pertinent comorbidities that impact skilled service provision, expectations of skilled services and sustainable outcomes
  • Case study in small groups for application of information reviewed

 Learning Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to: 

1. Discuss the impact of the evolving changes in post-acute care assessment, quality reporting, and payment systems on occupational therapy service delivery. 

2. Explain the connection between the post-acute initiatives and updates, and the ways in which to support and manage the changes

3. Identify resources and ways in which occupational therapy practitioners may support and promote the role and value of occupational therapy in post-acute care settings.
